Happy New Year -- Week 30

This week was good! We saw many miracles here. Hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas, and has a happy new year.

One of the things I learned this week was about love, and the power of the spirit. We had a really intresting lesson. So we were turning over this lady to the mandarin sisters, because she speaks mandarin. And so the lesson/conversation was all in Mandarin, but because of the spirit we were able to share things, not even knowing what was said, but relying fully on the spirit. It was a really cool experience, and I learned many things from that lesson.

Also another thing that happened was we went with a not so active member to visit her mom in the hospital. It was really good, but really sad. Her mom had a stroke....but anyway while we were there another member came and did acupuncture. It was so intresting, and so weird all at the same time. I can't believe people actually do things like that (sorry if you believe that it helps). It was so weird. And then some other old lady was asking Sister Sloan if she would help her change her shirt. It was so funny. But sister Sloan didn't understand, so just said sorry and walked away.

Hope you all had a great Christmas, and have a happy new year. Thank you all for your prayers and support. Love you all.

(From the mom:  Seeing Cass & Ellie on Christmas was the best blessing ever. They wanted to see each other, so we did Google Hangout.  We caught Ellie at 3pm in Hong Kong on Christmas Afternoon, which was 8 am in Germany on Christmas morning,  and midnight Christmas Eve for us. It was so much fun to see them both and to all get to talk together again as a family.  We laughed so much!)

Merry Christmas All! -- Week 29

Merry Christmas all! Sorry I don't have much time!

This week has been filled with many little miracles. I've learned the more specific your prayers are, the more specific your answers will be. For example this week we were leaving the apartment to go finding, and I prayed us out. I said, "Help us have the opportunity to teach the Restoration." Usually I would just say something like "help us have an opportunity to teach." But anyway we got to the area we decided we would find, and within 15 minutes we had sat down with this girl and taught her the restoration. It was a direct answer to prayers.

I'm thankful for the opportunity that we all have at this time of year to celebrate Christ. To celebrate His life. I'm so thankful for the sacrifice that He has made for me. I know that through Him we can all return to our loving Father in Heaven. He knows each and every one of us. He knows our struggles and our weaknesses, but in Him everything is possible.

I am so thankful for the opportunity I have to be here in Hong Kong, and serve these people. I am thankful for the knowledge of our Savior.

Thank you all for your support and prayers. I hope we can all remember the true meaning of Christmas. Hope you all have a Merry Christmas.

Don't say "I like your scarf..." -- Week 28

Well this week has been good. It was really weird to close my last area. And super weird to be white washing. We are over Shing Mun and Kwai Chung. And since we are whitewashing that means we had to haul all of our stuff all the way to our new home.

My new comp is Sister Sloan. She is amazing. I love her. We both have no idea what we are doing. So it's great. We were able to find the church....so that was good. Also both wards seem really nice. We were able to meet them on Sunday. But we didn't stay the whole time because President Phillips gave us permission to go back to Tai Wo for the baptism!!!! It was so good! Also I attempted to translate for Sister Hodson's dad that was there....it was so hard. Props to all the people who can translate.

Also this week we were out on the street finding, and I stopped this lady and told her I liked her scarf....because I'm really bad at stopping people so I just say the I like their shirt or something. Anyway she took her scarf off right there and gave it to me. It was so funny. I tried to say no and give it back but she wouldn't take it. She said she was too hot.

This week has been good. It's been interesting. I'm not really sure why we are here in this area. Two of us who have no idea what we are doing...but I'm excited to figure out.

Thank you all for your prayers. They are really appreciated. I hope you are all doing well. Love you all.

It Finally Got Cold--Week 27

Well it finally got cold....feels like Christmas time, but doesn't look like it lol

Well this week was filled with many different miracles. It's a season of miracles. Some of them came when we were finding, or even just after kneeling in prayer.

I found out that I am being transferred to Kwai Chung and will be whitewashing. So that will be a new experience.

This week I learned so many things. One of the things I loved was about prayer and Heavenly Father. It was in Stake Conference, and he was talking about how we don't understand prayer that well. That when we communicate with God we are talking to a perfect being. Someone who is all powerful and all knowing. He has all ability to help you and has all the solutions. Something else he said that I really liked was "It's better to do something imperfect than not at all." The last thing that I liked was he talked about how faith is the most valuable currency on earth right now.

Anyway sorry not a lot of time. There are miracles here in Hong Kong this Christmas season. Remember to look for them each and every day. I'm so thankful for the opportunity I have to be here serving the Lord. Remember the true meaning of Christmas.

I hope you are all doing well. Thanks for all your prayers and support.

GOD IS A GOD OF MIRACLES --WEEK 26

God is a God of miracles.

This week was super good. One day I woke up and wasn't ready to be a missionary....but that's okay because guess what. You get to be one anyway. So we went through our day and at one point we had a lesson with this cute girl. We have been working with her, and she awesome. She had gotten sick, so she asked for a blessing. So we set up a time and the elders came and gave her a blessing and it was really cool. After we talked about the blessing and she said that it felt like Heavenly Father was standing there. That she could feel his love. We after were able to teach her and she wants to be baptized! So she has a date for the 16th of this month. But we were worried because she told us her mom would let her come to church, but not get baptized. Anyway every time we prayed we would pray that her mom would support her decision to be baptized. And guess what a couple days later she came to a RS activity, and she said her mom told her she can be baptized! So we saw so many answers to prayers and fasts. And also miracles.

We also we were able to go to a couple members houses with our RC. It was so good. I love her so much. We just always joke around. She's super shy and she calls me a strange missionary. It's so funny.

I hope you are all doing well. Feeling the Christmas spirit....as for me it's hot here and doesn't feel like December at all hahah.

Thank you for all of your support and prayers.
