I've never eaten so much raw fish in my life...Week 25

Happy Thanksgiving! hope you all had a great week and ate lots of food.

Last Monday Sister Hodson and I went with someone she knows to lunch. We went and got Japanese food. I have never eaten so much raw fish in my life lol. It was very interesting.

This week was really good. Lots of random things happened. Also on Saturday and Sunday we had a total of 4 songs we had to sing...This week I found out 1st I can't sing, and 2nd I can't hold a part while singing hahahah. But oh well.

I've learned that no matter what happens there will be little moments that make everything worth it. Just look for those moments. I've learned so many things, and also learned how simple this gospel really is. How it will help everyone. I've seen how happy it makes families and people. I love it.

This week we were talking to this man on the street, and I realized I needed more patience. He wasn't listening....and it made me frustrated which it shouldn't have. But I just sat and listened to him, and then gave him a Book of Mormon and told him if he read it and prayed he would find out that it's true. I learned I need to be more patient and remember that everyone has their agency.

Thank you for all your prayers. I hope you are all doing well.

Followers of Christ -- Week 24

Wow this week had so many different things.

So this week we had a zone find, and that's when our whole zone goes to an area, and we all go on exchanges and go finding. This week I was with Sister Schade (a mandarin speaking sister) and we went door knocking. I was really worried, because we both speak a different language, and she's never knocked doors before, and I"ve only been a couple of times. But we just would knock and switch off at each door. Anyways most of the people said no, or didn't answer, but one lady opened the door, and her husband was on the toilet with the door wide open, and he was naked lol. So that was funny. Also the last door we knocked on was this family. The dad came out and I introduced us, and asked if he had time to listen and he said sure. So I taught the restoration, and then a really simple plan of salvation...it was actually a really cool experience, especially because I had to rely on God to help me with my language skills hahah.

Anyway later in the week we tried to go back to his house and talk to him again...but then he wasn't home and his wife said she had no time. So we started to walk back, and we ran into this girl. We started talking to her. And ended up teaching the Plan of Salvation right there on the street. Wow God is really a God of miracles. Even if nothing comes out of it, they could feel the spirit, and have a way to contact us.

This week we also had zone conference. It was good, but I came away with so many things that I need to change and do better. But that's the point right? To always improve yourself, and become one with God. Followers of Christ.

This week was good. Thank you all for your support and prayers. sorry if none of this makes sense. I hope you are all doing well.

Knocking Doors -- Week 23

Wow this week has been interesting.

Fist off this week there was one day that we decided to try knocking doors. We went to this place and walked up some stairs back into the houses. There was this old grandma sitting outside her house and we talked to her. She then said her neighbor believed in Christ. So we went to the neighbors' house and then ended up having her come out and taught these two ladies the restoration....I don't know how much interest they have and we will try to go back this week and see, but it was a really cool experience. And then when we were leaving this girl ran up to me and started talking to me. I had found her with another sister a couple weeks ago when on splits. We had tried to contact her, but nothing ever came. She came up to me and gave me her number again and told me to contact her. So that was super cool.

There was also another time this week when I was on exchanges with Sister Law. She was in my MTC group. We taught Ofelia who is our recent convert. I don't know how much she could understand because my language ability is very limited, but as I testified at the end I could feel the spirit so strong. It was a really cool experience.

One more cool thing that happened this week was yesterday we went to Sheung Sheui because someone sister Hodson has taught got baptized. There I met this guy who like my 3rd week here sister Johnson and I met on the street. And now he has a baptismal date. It was super cool to see him, and he remembered me....and was so happy. Wow it was so cool.

Hike to overlook Mainland China -- Week 22

Wow this week has been crazy. I got a new companion! Her name is Sister Hodson. She is amazing, and really smart! I am so thankful for her help, insights, and willingness. I'm so thankful that she works hard. Especially because this is her last transfer!

Last P day we went on a hike where you can over look mainland China! It was so cool! I loved it. We probably sat at the top and talked and just looked at the view for like an hour. It was amazing.

This week I think the most important thing that I've learned is that Missionary work is not about efficiency it's about the people. If it was about efficiency I would not be here. God would not ask 18 and 19 year old people to go forth in a different country or place, speaking an unknown language. It definitely is not the most effective way to build His kingdom on earth. But if we try our best, everything will work out.

Sorry not a lot of time this week. I hope you are all doing well. Thank you for all the prayers. They are much appreciated. Love you all.
