The Hermana's -- Week 2

I see Cass almost every day..

Okay so this week was definitely hard, lots of tears, but also so good.

So every night we do Zone Prayer in the older Sister's room, and so Sister Blake and I were walking down the hall to go to pray. It goes our room, then Sister Law and Mangubat's room, next is the Mandarin Sister's room, then a random room with Hermana's, and then the older Sister's room (where we go for prayer every night). I accidentally walked into the Hermana's room. They all stared at me....I said, "wrong room" and walked out. Sister Blake still laughs at me. She tells me every night not to go in that room hahah.

(Our District)
My companions and I also had to give the lesson in relief society on Sunday. It was about agency. So it was a lot of storytelling of things we have all done wrong and learned from. It was all over the place, but we took up the whole hour, so I think it was great. hahah. Maybe God didn't think so.

I learned a lot of things this week. It's amazing what you learn when you actually listen and aren't distracted on your phone hahah. But seriously one of my favorite things I learned was about agency. My teacher Brother Anderson (one of our Cantonese teachers) said something that helped a lot. We (the 5 of us in our class learning Cantonese) were all struggling a lot with the language. He then said, "None of you chose to speak Cantonese. It's one of the hardest languages in the world to learn and speak properly, yet God thinks you can do it." He then said, "the minute you submitted your mission papers you gave up your agency. You didn't choose where you were going to serve or what you were going to speak, but you did choose to serve the Lord." Next, he said that when the Lord requires us to give up agency he is then obligated to help us. So since we gave up our agency and were called to speak Cantonese, he now will help us. I really liked that.

The other thing I loved this week was again with Brother Anderson. We talked about 1 Nephi 1. But the thing I loved was in verse 14. it says, "thou wilt not suffer those who come unto thee that they shall perish!" I loved it because if we turn to Christ, and come unto the Lord we will not perish.

Thanks for all of the prayers. They are much appreciated. I hope you all have a great week.
