MTC VS. PRISON!! -- Week 1

This morning when we went to the temple, on the walk back we were talking and one of the Sisters said, "What is the difference between the MTC and prison?" and the other sister said, "In prison you can have visitors" hahah.

I'm in a trio companionship. My companions are sister Cruz from Cali, and sister Blake from North Carolina. We all get along pretty well. So far that is. Sister Cruz speaks a little Mandarin, so that's kinda helpful, but not really haha. Our district is 5 sisters. There are a total of 7 sisters speaking Cantonese and no elders. So our whole zone and branch are made up of all Mandarin speakers, and the 7 of us who speak Cantonese. So that means all of the songs and stuff at church are done is Mandarin haha.

Apparently Cantonese is the second or third hardest language to learn, so RIP to me. We taught our fake investigator twice. I had no idea what she was saying most of the time. I could pick up little words like Book of Mormon, but not a lot. Our first lesson was honestly horrible. We had no idea what she would ask. Our second lesson went a lot better. We taught about the Book of Mormon. When she would ask questions about my comps. and I would quickly try to figure out what she said and then flip through our book that has phrases in it and say a simple phrase using all the wrong tones and hope she could somewhat understand, and deep down hope she didn't have any more questions hahah. But she usually did.

The MTC is for sure weird. But good. Language is hard, but I do like the class. So that's good I guess hahah.

Feel free to email anytime. I am able to read emails any day of the week.

Hope all is good. I'll send a separate email with pictures. Thanks for all of the prayers! Love you all.
