3 Hours on the MTR -- Week 38

Hello this week has been good. It seems like I always get to emails and my mind goes blank....it's like this week didn't even happen. lol.

What I remember is Sister Sloan was sick all week....that's my bad. I got all our apartment sick. But the work still goes on.

There was one day this week we literally spent like 3 hours on the MTR go back and forth to different random appointments we had.

Oh also yesterday the cutest girl we are teaching came to church with us. She asked me how she could talk to her parents, because they don't believe in God, and think that the church just brainwashes people. We just read 1 Nephi 3:7 (yes the verse everyone and their dog uses) and we invited her to pray for God's help. So pray her parents will support her.

Hope you all are doing good. Love you all. thanks for the support and prayers.

Meeting People from Germany -- Week 37

hey sorry no time this week! I hope you are all doing well.

This week I met 2 people from Germany while we were hiking. I told them that my sister is there....one was a lot nicer than the other. One wasn't too amused. I told them If you ever see the tag to talk to them. lol.

Just keep praying for the people of Hong Kong, and the people of Mainland.

Thank you all for the prayers. Love you all.

Chinese New Year -- Week 36

Well this week was good. It was Chinese New Year, so that means deep cleaning for the missionaries. We cleaned for like 7 hours.....but at least we just laughed the whole time. And now our apartment is clean.

Also my comp makes fun of me because I just say to throw everything away lol. I guess something I learned from my dad.

Also this week I got told by members twice that I have bags under my eyes....that I should sleep more. I just looked at sister Sloan and shrugged. Just gotta keep being a missionary lol.

We also ate duck feet this week....umm pretty weird but okay. Not the worst thing that I have ever eaten. Just has so many bones, so inconvenient.

This week also we got so many red pockets....so if you are married during Chinese new year you are supposed to give the unmarried people money. So we got so much money and coupons. It was pretty cool.

Oh also this week I forgot the keys to our house....so when we got home we were locked out. We tried to use an umbrella to open the door....but it didn't work lol. So good thing I have a super chill companion. We went to the park and just did all our studies until the other sisters got home. It was pretty fun.

Sorry, not a lot of time this week. Hope you all are doing good! Thank you for all of the prayers they are so appreciated. Keep looking for the miracles in every day.

Keep Looking For The Miracles -- Week 35

Wow this week was full of so many miracles. Also we did lots of different things.

Yesterday when we were on the MTR coming home from church I was trying to update ABP on my phone, and some guy accidentally hit my phone. He then said "sorry, sorry!" and I replied in Chinese and said "no problem"....but then I looked up and it was a white guy. So I had to translate from Chinese to english and it was so funny. And then Sister Sloan just sat there laughing. He probably thought we were so weird. Oh well.

Also this week we decided to go finding in Tung Chung. It is pretty far away from where we live. Anyway we met this super awesome girl. We stopped her and talked to her and got her number. We then whatsapped her and invited her to church...and I was just expecting her to say no because it's like 45 minutes to get to church...but she said yes! I guess that was God showing me that I need to have more faith. Anyway she came to church with us yesterday, and we were able to teach her.

This week we did lots of other things....but I can't really remember what lol. Just keep looking for the miracles each day in your life. Know that God is really there. He has a perfect plan for each and every single one of us.

hope you all have a good week. Thank you all for your prayers.

Kills it everyday -- Week 34

Well this week has been a good one! This week we did lots of random things. Sister Sloan is still not fully recovered, but she still kills it everyday.

This week we had a turnover lesson with the Tsuen Wan elders, and it was this girl named Rainbow. Anyway we were just sitting at this park trying to teach her about Christ and the Book of Mormon, and she just starts smoking...which is great. But then she turns her head to blow the smoke and the wind blew it right back into our faces....lol I had to try so hard not to cough. It was a very interesting lesson. We gave her the book, and she said she's started to read it. So that's good.

Also this week we had a balloon animal making activity. We showed up and I'm actually pretty good at it. I have a hidden talent....on of the elders asked me if I was a clown or something before the mission. So if you ever want a balloon pig let me know.

Everything is going great here in Hong Kong. Sister Sloan and I just laugh our heads off at everything...maybe we need to be more serious like Cassidy and her comps.....Oh well. No one is perfect probably will just keep laughing and teaching repentance and baptizing converts.

I hope you are all doing well this week. Thank you all for your support and prayers. They are much appreciated. Remember to look for the miracles throughout everyday. Love you all

Covering 5 Wards--Week 33

well this week has been interesting. I was sick, and sister sloan was immobile, but don't worry she is good and recovering. It only takes us an hour to get places that usually take 15 min...lol.

This week we had interview with President and transfer calls. Sister Sloan and I will stay companions, but now we will be covering 5 wards. I now feel bad for the Utah missionaries who cover 3 stakes. It'll be an interesting transfer.

This week we tried to go finding one day, but sister sloan couldn't really walk, so she literally said to someone "come here." They just looked at her and walked away. It was so funny. I just laughed after that. And then we ran into a person who had been taught before, and she just told her she shouldn't be out walking.

I have learned a lot this week. I've learned that God is really there. He knows each and everyone of us and the situation we are in. That He listens and answers our prayers. I'm so thankful for this opportunity I have to be here serving the Lord. I have learned so much.

thank you all for your prayers. I hope you all are doing well, and hope you all have a good week.

Be careful when you pray--Week 32

hello!

sorry this is really short, but this week has been full of adventures! Currently we are at the ER because my and I were praying into comp study, and we stood up and all of a sudden her knee hurt. then she couldn't walk for 2 days. so we ended up here. We decided to only speak English because neither of us know any medical terms in Chinese.

also this week there was one day that literally we just ate all day. We had members take us out to breakfast, then we met with one of the RS presidents and she took us to lunch, then we met with a returning member, and she brought us bread, and then we had the cutest couple take us to dinner. we ate some weird bird...but it was pretty good.

keep reading your scriptures and praying....but be careful when you stand up. you don't want to end up in the ER.

lol love you all. thanks for all of your prayers.
