Ding ding -- Week 63

Well hello. This week was sooo good. Just so many happy moments. Sad to say goodbye to the people in my last area, but so good to be here in west point. Here are a few moments of light.

riding the ding ding the first day on the island. Talked to this Korean family. Seriously so happy. Just love them. They barely spoke English and I don't know Korean, but they knew I was Christian. Just smiled and took selfies.

Saw this girl on the ding ding...knew I had to talk to her. Touched her arm...you don't do that in HK...and asked where she bought her bracelet. Had a solid conversation about life. How hard it is, but how God loves us.

a girl walking away. Know I have to talk to her, but don't know how to stop her without sprinting after her. So I open my "can I ask you a question" comes out. she stops and turns around. We talk. Share about our church. Why it's different. She was super willing to share about her religious beliefs. We talk about God and our purpose on life. So good.

Just remember that God is in the details of all our lives. He is living and will guide and direct us. No matter who we are, or what we have done he will reach out to us when we lean on him and trust him.

Thanks for all the prayers! Love you all. Have the best week

Whitewash Hong Kong Island -- Week 62

Well, another week has come and gone. It's crazy how time flies. We got transfer calls and I will be moving to whitewash on Hong Kong Island. So if anyone has any tips for whitewashing again let me know😂

This week has been good. I was on exchanges with sister Caunca this week. We had just finished sitting and talking to this kid, and then they stood up and sister Caunca said, "there is one more." we turn around and see this girl sitting on the bench. We walk over, introduce ourselves and shared the video Because of Him with her. She said she wanted to learn more, but didn't have a way we could contact her. So I gave her my Facebook and an hour later she had actually added me. I was able to talk to her and she said wants to come to church.

Oh also this week literally saw some guy changing on the MTR. I guess "no shirt, no shoes, no service" has no meaning here lol.

Also again on exchanges with another sister, doing comp study asked her what's her story. She is a convert. She talked about how without the church there is no purpose. Life is sad. She wanted to be a nun before. Just wanted to serve God and help those around her. Talked about how this gospel gives us hope. The plan of salvation especially. Death isn't sad because we know. Others think this life is all we have. That's why they are 唔得閒。because time is everything to them. Little do they know we have eternity.

Thanks for all the support and prayers. Literally, mean the world. Hope you all have the best week. Stay lit.

Another Typhoon -- Week 61

Well, this week was full of many different adventures. There was a typhoon and so we all had to go home and stay home....but right before we were told that we were out finding. It was super cool because it was pouring rain and windy, but people were willing to stop and talk. Most people we talked to had met the missionaries before, or seen them. We also ran into this girl to our surprise already had a Book of Mormon. She talked, and didn't have much interest, but thanked us and then told us to go home because the typhoon was coming😂. But what was cool is so many of these people had already had experiences with missionaries. So we were just one contact closer to them being willing to listen.

Went on exchanges on the island. So fun. We got all you can eat hot pot. So yummy. And had yoga class. Talked about life and the mission. Solid.

We found the cutest mom on Saturday at the park with her little daughter. And then she came to church yesterday. Super cool. And also that day we started and prayed to teach the plan of salvation and prayer. In 20 minutes we were sitting on some steps in the park and taught this cute 14-year-old girl the plan of salvation and prayer. God listens to us.

Also, super sad sister Fu left last night. So now I'm in a trio with sister Tam my old comp Sister Cruz! Yet another adventure begins.

Love you all thanks for the prayers and support. Hope this week is the best yet!

Unnoticed -- Week 60

Not a ton of time but a few things I've learned this week.

One is about God and the sacrifices we make. No matter how small they are, they are noted in heaven. Lots of things go unnoticed, but God sees all and loves us regardless.

Two is remember the Savior. Remember how He suffered for us? How did he get through it? He thought of you and me. So when we are struggling no matter how big or small think of Him in Gethsemene.

Thank you all for all you do. Hope this week is the best yet.

Fishing -- Week 59

Okay so our mission has a focus on families. So we decided on Sunday evening to go to this estate that has a park in the center. We prayed and started talking to people. We approached this one mother who was indifferent to our message about the Gospel. But when we said we taught free kids English class she was all for it. She then yelled to all the other mothers "who wants a free English class? No need to pay!" we were then swarmed with a bunch of mothers. It was so funny. We handed them fliers and moved on. Then the spirit whispered go ahead and don't turn when we ran into this girl who had just stood up and was heading home. We sat back down with her and shared the restoration. She was super sweet and willing to meet again.

Also this week we found ourselves on the pier. It was Saturday morning and so lots of fisherman. Thanks Spencer for taking me fishing and teaching me a few things. Talked to every fisherman we saw. One was so funny. He took me to see the fish he caught that morning and just talked about his love of fishing. Then he had his son with him so talked to him about Japan because he has a love for Japan. We left them with a simple invite. Next time they saw missionaries to say hello.

One more quick story. We showed up to this park. We got there earlier than planned. We prayed and started walking. We saw this cute old grandma playing basketball in the rain. Seriously probably 70s or 80s just by herself shooting hoops. Went shot with her for a few minutes and shared who we were. Exchanged numbers and moved on. So cute.

One thing I think I learned this week....or was reassured of was that God gives us trials for a reason. That he is aware of our situations and only does it for our good. We are to learn from it and it will help us in our future. But don't forget we are never alone in this journey of life. That we have a savior by our side and a Father who will reach back as we reach to him.

I love you all. Hope you have a great week. Thanks for the prayers and support.

New Companion From Singapore -- Week 58

This week said goodbye to one of my best friends. Love you sister Sloan. See you soon

Also, I got my new companion. She is super cute. Sister Fu from Singapore. She just loves missionary work. And it's so cute.

Sorry not a ton of time this week, but just wanna say that I know God is there. Have had too many experiences when I can feel Christ there with me. Feel God's love and his hand in my life. Follow the promptings and thoughts in your head, and it might just change someone's day.

Thanks all for the prayers. They are really appreciated. Love you all and hope you have the best week.

Sitting on Steps -- Week 57

Wow this week was good. What is new? Every week on the mission is good. All you have to do is look for the good parts.

The other day we were out and we saw this guy sitting down on a step. We walked over and asked to sit with him and just talked. I could just feel the love God had for this man. I could feel the presence of Christ and it was so cool. No matter who we are or where we come from we are not alone. We left him with a pamphlet and as we walked away he just sat there reading it.

Also this week I was able to go on exchanges in Mandarin work. We were out and talked to this kid. Turns out he met missionaries a year ago. Said he liked the things he learned. Who knows what will happen. Also met this guy from South Africa. Super cool to talk to him and think back to my brother and how he served there.

One more quick story. So God told us to go to the pier....so we were there and it was just pouring. No one was out. But then it stopped. We stopped this girl and taught her the plan of salvation. I could just feel the spirit and it told me that this is the first time she's heard this since coming to the earth. Thanks for sharing.

Don't be afraid to share what you know. God is aware of every single one of his children. Whether they are sitting on the steps, in the pouring rain, or half way across the world He knows.

Thanks for all the prayers. God is a God of miracles and loves each and every single one of us. Have a great week. Love you all.
